Races
AGE CATEGORIES: 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54,
55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, and 75 and over.
THE MARATHON
The Hogeye marathon course changed in 2008.
It includes parts of the Fayetteville Trail system and be less hilly than

The marathon begins off the Fayetteville Square, at the Cosmopolitan
Fayetteville Hotel, and continues through several historic scenic areas
of the city. It promises to be scenic as well as safe, thanks to help
from the Fayetteville Police and the Washington County Sheriff's Department.
Water and aid stations will be located throughout the course. Maps will
be available at the packet pick-up, or here on the website. This is a
demanding route with many new added benefits. A shuttle service will be
provided for relay exchange points.
The marathon will start at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 5. The race will
begin and end on the Fayetteville square. Timing will end 5.5 hours from
the start. Participants may start early if this is not adequate time.

The 26.2 mile run is open to male and female participants 15 years of
age and older. All participants under the age of 18 must have parent/guardian's
signature. No one under the age of 15 will be allowed to participate in
the Full Marathon. The fee is $55.00 per participant. Runners may participate
as part of a 2- or 4-person relay team for additional fees.

HALF MARATHON - ARKANSAS GRAND PRIX
The half marathon will start with the marathon, proceed
to the 6.55 mile mark and return to the start/finish line. The fee
is $35.00 per participant. There will be a $10 late fee for race
day entries. Half marathon is to be included n the Arkansas Grand
Prix Series. Master awards will be given for this race.
5K RUN/WALK
The 5k Run is open to all competitors and starts at 7:35
am on Sunday. Runners will proceed to the 1.65 mile mark and return
to the start/finish line. The entry fee is $20 per participant.
An awards ceremony will be held immediately after the race. |

CORPORATE 5K CHALLENGE
The Corporate Challenge will begin at 7:35 on Sunday. All participants
will start and finish on the Fayetteville Square. Everyone will
run/walk 5K (3.1 miles). Organizations must have at least five
participants. Prizes will be given for the most participants,
as well as the most spirit. Runners and Walkers are encouraged
and welcome to dress in costumes or wear team t-shirts. Cost is
$20 and will cover fees and a T-shirt. The awards ceremony will
take place at 9:00 a.m. on the Fayetteville square (weather permitting).
Teams must register and pick up packets together.

RELAYS
This event is designed for four-person teams, and will begin at
the same time as the marathon. Four-person teams run 6.55 miles
each. Relay categories are all male, all female or mixed, (two men
and two women). Each relay team member must fill out an entry form
listing the name of each person running a leg of the relay. The
fee is $20.00 per participant. A relay runner may run in one other
race for an additional fee. |

WHEELCHAIR MARATHON
For the second year the Full Marathon course will be open
to wheelchair athletes. The same beautiful scenery winding throughout
the City of Fayetteville. Bicycle escorts will be provided.
AWARDS
The marathon awards ceremony will be at the Cosmopolitan Fayeteville
Hotel on Sunday at 2 p.m. Awards will be given three deep by gender
and age. Overall male and female marathoners will be honored. Local
awards will not be mailed to winners. If you cannot attend the awards
ceremony, you may call and make arrangements to have the award sent
to you at your expense.

Course Description
The fun begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Cosmopolitan Fayetteville Hotel, located
on the beautiful Fayetteville Square. It will be an out-and-back course
that allows participants to enjoy scenic Fayetteville. Local law enforcement
officers will direct traffic, offering better safey for all runners. Aid
stations providing Ultima and water will be at every mile. Maps will be
available at registration and on this website. Shuttle services will be
provided for relay exchange points.
