Frequently Asked Questions/Information

Aid Stations will be approximately every mile.  Some of these are there for runners as they go out and as they return.  All aid stations will have water and Gatorade available.  Please bring a bottle carrier if you think these stations will not be enough or if you are accustomed to training with a different type of electrolyte replacement.  Power Gel will be available for the last half of the marathon.

Port-A-Potties will be at the half marathon turn-around, and at various other points along the way.  There are also bathrooms at the Veterans Park and Lake Fayetteville Park. (marathoners and relays only),& at the Fay. Town Ctr. Turns are indicated by volunteers, signs and/or marked with pink arrows.

Medical Personnel will be available at the half marathon turn-around, the marathon turn-around and the start/finish line and along the course.  If you have any serious allergies, (e.g. bee stings), or have medical conditions which could affect the way the EMT’s treat you should a medical incident occur, you should carry this information with you during the race.  You should also print any allergies or health conditions on the back of your race number with a permanent marker.  Emergencies do occur!

There will be a separate awards ceremony for the 5K at 8:30 am am and Half Marathon at 10:00 am on the Arvest Bank patio, (weather permitting).  The awards ceremony for the Marathon & 4- Person Relay will be at 1:30 pm at the Cosmopolitan Ballroom.  Other runners may pick up your award if you are unable to stay for the ceremony.  Door prizes will be given out at the awards ceremony.

The Square will be closed to traffic on Sunday morning.  There will be NO PARKING ON THE SQUARE.
Please use the Fayetteville Town Center parking garage or the Cosmopolitan parking lot or other parking lots behind businesses on the Square.  The streets leading to and from the Square will have a limited number of spaces.  Please remember people will be finishing until 1:30 pm, so keep these streets as clear as possible.

There will be free parking in the Town Center parking garage.  Please use this garage!  It may be accessed on race day by taking Mountain St (one way Street), turning right on Block.  The garage is on your left but you will need to go around the block to the entrance.

Shuttle vans will be provided by Lewis Auto Group.  They will be parked outside of the Cosmopolitan Hotel on Sunday morning beginning at 7:30 am.  They are available to transport runners to and from relay points, and bring volunteers back to the Square if necessary.  The vans will pick up at the corner of Meadow and East Street after the race begins and run during the course of the race.  Please thank these volunteer drivers.

Headphones are strongly discouraged.   No baby strollers or dogs are allowed on the course. These rules are for your safety.  Spectators should not park in the street if it is on the course.  Please help keep areas clear.

Relay runners must all wear their bib number.   Exchange points will be marked.  Only the first runner is required to be at the start, and runners should exchange the ankle timing device in order to have an accurate finish time.  No more than one Relay runner from the same team may cross the finish line.  Disqualification will occur otherwise. If someone is dropping you off, they are not allowed to park on or near the course.   Please do not allow them to clog the race course or relay exchanges, as some streets may be closed.

PLEASE THANK YOUR RACE VOLUNTEERS AND POLICE OFFICERS FOR GIVING THEIR TIME TO HELP MAKE THIS EVENT A SAFE AND ENJOYABLE TIME FOR ALL.
